David E. C. Grant

David E. C. Grant has been engaged in the practice of law since 1987. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his B.A. from Clark University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. While attending Clark University, he was elected to the university’s Phi Beta Kappa chapter. Mr. Grant graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law with Honor. He then clerked for the Honorable Joseph H.H. Kaplan, the Administrative Law Judge for the Baltimore City Circuit Court. He was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1987, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland in 1998, and the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit in 1999. Mr. Grant is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Baltimore County Bar Association.

During his professional career, Mr. Grant has focused his practice on civil litigation. He has served as trial counsel in matters before the Maryland District Court, Maryland Circuit Court and the U.S. Federal District Court in Maryland. He has served as counsel of record and argued cases before both the Court of Special Appeals and the Court of Appeals. He has prepared and filed briefs in the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. In private practice, Mr. Grant has defended clients against whom damages are sought for personal injuries in the areas of auto tort, premises liability, and construction.

In public service as an Assistant Attorney General, he has defended the State of Maryland in matters involving claims of constitutional tort violations of civil rights, negligence and harmful environmental intrusions onto private property.

Prior to joining The Law Offices of Frank F. Daily, P.A., Mr. Grant served as Assistant Attorney General representing the Maryland Transportation Authority and was previously retained as a Senior Trial Attorney for State Auto Insurance Companies.
